Meet Our English Tutors

Sam Aina
I am a tutor with more than nine years experience tutoring and lecturing English Language in the Cambridgeshire area.
Since graduating in English Language and English Language Teaching at university, I have worked with hundreds of students and have been successful in supporting them to help them achieve their English GCSE goals.
I want to work with you to help your child enjoy the learning process, learn how to effectively set and achieve goals (beyond the classroom), to develop their learning approach and to reach their potential in English, so that they can move forward and focus on their next step.
My lessons are engaging, cover all of the assessment objectives, and are accessible (even for students who are not the most avid readers).

Grace Aina
Hello I’m Grace! I am currently at university studying Interior Design.
I achieved A*AAA in my A-Level studies, in Psychology, Biology, and English Literature and EPQ (Extended Project Qualification), respectively from Hills Road Sixth Form College Cambridge.
Prior to this, I achieved 9 GCSEs including 9 / A* in English Language, and 8 / A* in English Literature.
I welcome the opportunity to support students through tailored, engaging lessons and mentoring, to achieve their potential.
I would strive to create a safe and nurturing learning environment, where attention can be focused on each student’s personal and educational needs and students feel able to be themselves, ask questions, be curious and make mistakes, knowing that they are a necessary part of the learning journey..

Jeanna Thompson
I am at university studying Earth and Planetary sciences, where I plan to obtain a bachelor of science degree before moving onto a master's degree with my interests focused in planetary science and volcanology.
At secondary school I achieved 10 GCSEs grade 7-9 including a 9 in Further Mathematics, Biology, and Geography. Additionally, I have 4 A levels at grade A-B in Geography, Biology, Mathematics, and German.
I would take pride in tutoring my students to achieve their greatest potential and help them feel more confident in their studies. Furthermore, I have personally had many years of tutoring in the past to help with my A Levels and because of that, I understand the benefit of tutoring and how best to tailor lessons to suit a student's ability and needs.

Emily Moffat
I am studying Biomedical Science at university pursuing an Integrated Master's programme. I am really interested in how cancer works and its interaction with the immune system. I plan to pursue a PhD in cancer biology after I finish my current course because I am fuelled by continuously wanting to learn and understand how things work.
My secondary school qualifications include 9 GCSEs from grades 8-9 including Triple Science, English, Maths and Further Maths. I also achieved 1 GCSE at grade 7. At the end of my A Level programme of studies, I achieved AAAB in Chemistry, Biology, EPQ and English Literature respectively, at Hills Road, Cambridge.
I strongly believe that tutoring is an invaluable resource for shaping a child's education, as it allows for personalized attention tailored to their unique needs and learning styles, in a way that a traditional classroom setting cannot. Over the past year, I have volunteered at a homework club for primary school children, an experience that has been both insightful and rewarding. I am confident that the skills I have gained will enable me to effectively support my tutees in their learning journey.
As a tutor, I strive to be enthusiastic and patient, creating a supportive learning environment where each student can grow in confidence and develop a work ethic that will help them reach their full potential.

Tadi Haukozi
As a law student from Lancaster University currently studying abroad at IE University in Madrid, I am deeply passionate about pursuing a career as a solicitor after completing my Bachelor's degree in Law. My academic journey began with achieving 9 GCSEs graded A*-B, including A*s in English Language and Literature, Combined Science, Geography, and Mandarin, as well as As in Mathematics and History. I then went on to secure 3 A levels graded A-B in Economics, History, and Geography, with a pass in Mandarin at the IB level.
English has always been one of my favourite subjects, and the skills I developed in communication, analysis, and comprehension have been invaluable in my university studies. Having personally benefited from tutoring in Mathematics, I understand the importance of personalised support. The guidance I received from my tutor not only boosted my confidence but also contributed to my academic success. Inspired by this experience, I am eager to help others in similar situations.
With experience as a reading mentor and school prefect, I am comfortable working with students of all ages. I am friendly, patient, and enthusiastic, and I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel at ease asking for help.
